When Sale Shopping...

Topshop Skirt - £45 reduced to £25

...Sizes aren't as important.

I'd been looking at this skirt for ages before it went on sale (okay, I saw it about a fortnight before the sale started, it still counts) but for some reason online and everywhere in Scotland only had it available in a size 6. Which isn't ever going to accommodate my hips, sadly. I had resigned myself to the fact it wouldn't be mine when I spied this one in store the other day - the same store that had nothing above a 6 before going on sale. Someone must have returned one and it was my lucky day.

Because although it's a bit too big you can always get things taken in. Which is something to remember when sale shopping - if something's a massive bargain but it's too big, don't necessarily pass it up. It costs money to get alterations done so don't go for something that you're only buying because it's on sale as by the time you get it adjusted you can end up having paid pretty much the original price, but if it's an item you really, really want don't be put off by it being a size or two too big!

  1. I LOVE this skirt! I'm so happy you found it!
I know exactly what you mean about buying something in a few sizes bigger in the sales as long as you can alter them yourself or for a good price so the item is still a bargain find! :) Great tip for sale shoppers.
