Lunchtime Drinking

21 August 2012

Shirt - Equipment
Jeans - Topshop (Leigh)
Shoes - River Island
Bag - Accessorize

Excusing the fact I have no neck in these pictures, I'm still trying to get to grips with posing with someone else behind the camera and not feel awkward (though it is much simpler than self-timing!), this was actually a nice outfit that I wore out to lunch and cocktails yesterday.

I've been super busy lately and I'm totally exhausted - so I wanted something fairly effortless but still put together and although I'm not usually much of a jeans and heels girl it is definitely an easy go to combination, and the oxblood colour of these makes them a slight bit more interesting than standard blue jeans.

S, my gandmother and I went to November in Glasgow's Princess Square, which is somewhere I'd definitely recommend during the week and on Sundays for food or drinks. Reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful location, what more can you actually ask for? Tip though - avoid at all costs on weekend nights. I walked in once on a Saturday night and walked back out again within 5 minutes - despite the fact that we had a booth booked we couldn't relax as it was so packed with girls clearly there to hunt certain types of guys. I think that's the problem in Glasgow - there's not the same choice of nice places as in London so if somewhere gets a decent reputation then the*insert word of choice here* descends en masse.

That aside, the food is excellent and the cocktail menu even better. We all had bruschetta as a starter, and it was gorgeous. The balsamic vinegar was probably the sweetest balsamic vinegar in life - but it was to die for. As odd as it sounds the combination of bread and balsamic vinegar is one I could happily live on and I'm pretty picky about the balsamic.

Main course wise I had the salmon with the mashed potato with spring onion. As previously mentioned I love fish and the salmon was amazing, but the mashed potato was the icing on the cake - ridiculously good, and I loved the spring onion through it.

S had the macaroni cheese, which is my usual choice (but I was trying to be healthy. With cocktails. And amazing cheese over my bruschetta. Obviously). The cheese sauce on this is runnier than I usually like, but still good, and still a recommendation if you want something nice and carb filled.

My grandmother had the chicken. I didn't try it but it went down well.
