O'Porto, Portugal

16 July 2012

 Shirt - Marks & Spencer

Shorts - River Island
Shoes - Topshop

We had 2 days in O'Porto and it was not enough - I absolutely fell in love with this place, and can't wait to go back. The buildings were beautiful and the fish was divine - caught freshly each morning I can't even describe how amazing it was. I love fish anyway but eating it down in the old town at the front of the sea was just.. out of this world.

As  a Harry Potter geek this place also fascinated me as J.K.Rowling lived here and taught English at the university. There is also a bookshop here that she used to like to go to, that they think was possibly the inspiration for some of Hogwarts. I suppose everyone likes to claim that they were inspiration for her but this bookshop was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly what I'd think the Hogwarts library did - shelves so high you used ladders to get up to the top and a big grand staircase which split and curved back round at the top - all done in dark wood and dark green. I could happily move in with a sleeping bag and live there forever.

Pictures were banned but these 2 give you an idea and come from this website. If you're ever in O'Porto and you love Harry, or just want to see a seriously beautiful bookshop - go here!
